Event Details

 The 6th High Power Targetry Workshop, hosted by the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory at Merton College, University of Oxford, UK, brings together scientists and engineers from the international community for particle accelerator targets. Applications include neutrino facilities, neutron facilities, muon facilities, radioactive ion beams (RIBs), materials irradiation facilities and precision experiments for rare processes.

  1. R&D – physics design, materials choices, validation of concepts

  2. Target design, analysis & simulations
    (Nikolai Mokhov - FNAL & Frederique Pellemoine - FRIB)
  3. Target facility & safety issues
    (Eric Pitcher - ESS & Marco Calviani - CERN)
  4. Construction, fabrication, inspection, QA
    (Bernie Riemer - ORNL & David Jenkins - STFC)
  5. Operations (Operational experience, Monitoring & instrumentation)
    (Shunsuke Makimura - KEK & Jim Hylen - FNAL) 
  6. Post Irradiation Examination (PIE)/autopsy – feedback to R&D & design
    (Yong Dai - PSI & Nick Simos - BNL)

There will be plenty of time available for discussion and we would welcome suggestions of discussion themes.
