Hartree Centre Workshop - HPC as a Service for Industry

The Hartree Centre is pleased to announce the first of a series of workshops focused on providing UK industry with access to world class HPC skills and resources. The focus of this event is to make current and prospective HPC users within UK industry familiar with the collaboration opportunities available, and to highlight examples of industry / academic collaboration already taking place.

The sessions in this workshop will cover key topics related to the ability of UK industry to take advantage of high performance computing and cover

  • Industry requirements from getting started to massively parallel HPC
  • Highlight Industry examples of high-performance computing
  • HPC made easy, from the Science Lab floor through to manufacturing and marketing.
  • Resources, where to find and who can help provide skills and effective systems
  • Getting started, using academic partnerships, Cloud technologies and shared ownership
  • Speakers will include industrial and academic leaders from UK, Europe and the US.

This event is targeted at industrial and academic organisations who recognise the need to expand the use of HPC within UK Industry and would like to take advantage of the unique combination of skills and resources available within the Hartree Centre.  Participants will have the opportunity to establish links and request resource to assist them to grow their HPC capability, which will include access to the world leading systems installed within the centre.

The event is also designed to promote the sharing of the ideas and experiences from collaborations across the globe.

Fee Info: Registration is free for this event. However, please note that you will be charged a £100 "no show" fee if you register for the event and then do not attend. Cancellations must be received by 12pm on Friday 25 January to avoid the charge.
