Venue: Brunner-Mond Training Lab, STFC, Sci-Tech Daresbury

Target Group: for trainees who are able to work independently but would require guidance for solving complex problems

Prerequisites: Basic skills in C/C++/Fortran and OpenMP/MPI programming language; Basic skill in using a Linux HPC environment;

Objectives: To carry out a set of sessions on optimization and improvement of the parallelization of HPC software when targeting the Intel Xeon Phi KNL architecture. This includes topics such as AVX512 vectorization, task-based and loop-based OpenMP parallelization, hybrid programming with OpenMP and MPI, and how to use suitable performance analysis tools.

Learning Outcomes: The attendees who finish this course will be able to understand the Intel Xeon Phi KNL architecture, the multiple memory and clustering models it has, and how to evaluate and optimize the performance of software on it.
