This is a two day workshop focussed on developing skills around the Maxeler system at the Hartree Centre.

Day one (Tuesday 29 September) will be an introduction to programming the Maxeler dataflow machine covering the following topics.

In the morning:

  • Introduction to Dataflow Computing and MaxCompiler    
  • SLiC Interface, Programming and Acceleration Process
  • Advanced Techniques and Accelerating Loops

In the afternoon there will be a twin track for developers and system administrators covering:

Developer’s track "MaxCompiler hands on"       

  • Part 1 (Classification DFE)                            
  • Part 2 (Linear Regression DFE)                    

System administrator track

  • Cluster architecture and administration
  • Hardware management & provisioning

Day two (Wednesday 30 September) will focus on addressing specific challenges and issues associated with dataflow computing with a Q&A session at the ned of the day.

  • A Case Study: using MaxGenFD on large scale problems
  • Numerical optimizations and how to get performance
  • Accelerating Applications: One-on-One Q/A Sessions

There are three options available for registration:

  1. Day one only - programming
  2. Day two only - challenges and issues
  3. Both days

End Date: Wednesday, 30th September 2015

Price: £50
Fee Info: A standard fee of £50 applies to the workshop. The fee is the same whether you attend one day or both days.
The registration fee covers refreshments, lunch on both days and all course material.
